Beauty Blooms with Age
There is this wonderous thing about mature women that no younger women can pull off. It’s a coming of age like a fine wine. One of the things that I love is that the older we get, the more comfortable we’ve grown to be. Our shoulders relax, our smile is genuine, and our eyes are warm with kindness.
We know who we are, what we love, and let go of the things that no longer serve us. We do things that make us happy, because we’ve learned to value ourselves. Our beauty blooms like a flower in spring, gorgeous and ripe, with a perfect sense of personal style that is unique to each of us.
Remember the years of constantly searching for your style, trying new things, and always feeling like you needed to keep up with the trends? Isn’t it nice to let that fall away, and simply be who you’ve become? How much energy did you spend looking in the mirror wishing you were thinner, curvier, younger, older, had short hair, had long hair, or wished you had the courage to wear something you didn’t think you could pull off?
I find that mature women have an essence that’s difficult to put into words. We’ve relaxed, become comfortable with who we are, and don’t try so hard. And in not trying so hard is where the magic was revealed. We were simply okay with where we were…and it showed. Confidence that it was okay to just be who you are, without apology, without chasing trends, and without feeling like you weren’t good enough.
Shine on, sister. Beauty is all around us, there are wildflowers who have matured and are living their best lives because they finally found their inner voice that said, “I am enough, just the way I am.”
There is no blush or foundation in the world that can outdo the glow of a confident woman. There is no eyeliner that makes eyes sparkle like that of a laughing woman. There’s no lipstick that can outdo the silly grin of a friend after sharing a juicy story.
You are beautiful. Share that beauty with the world.
